Changing client service careers

Recently, I turned 36.

Over the last two years, A LOT of things have changed. I was working an 8-5 client service job at a financial firm. While I worked with some good people, earning my CPT showed me that client service in that capacity no longer aligned with me. I wanted to make a change. At first, I wanted to make a small change for a few people. It was highly rewarding. Then, the urge to do more took over, but I didn’t have the physical time to help more people. I made a decision, without a training position lined up, to give my notice. I knew my position at the firm was extensive, so I gave a five-week notice.

During those five weeks, I scheduled interviews to work at gyms, practiced my programming, continued my online mentorship, and worked hard to figure out how I would obtain clients on my own.

Two weeks before I left the firm, I earned a job as a trainer.

I was INCREDIBLY excited! It was a chance to step into my element fully. While it was difficult obtaining clients at first, I learned to take the “two ears, one mouth” very seriously. Soon, I had a decent book of business. The next challenge was time to meet with everyone! It’s a great challenge to have. That is when I decided to try to create online opportunities.

While I am newer to online coaching, I still maintain a book of business in person. I LOVE in person training. There is nothing like it! But, I know I want to reach more people, guide more people, help more people. To do that, and with the time I have, I decided to try to grow in that space.

There is A LOT I am learning, and A LOT I need to implement. Instead of overwhelming myself, I am taking it bit by bit.
This is how we should approach fitness, weight loss, weight gain, etc.

Instead of trying to change everything at once, fitness should be approached the same way. We need to approach it slowly, mastering one skill at a time before adding a new skill to master. The consistency in learning and mastering the skills needed, one at a time, will be your biggest key to success… along with its friend, discipline.

Stop approaching fitness as an all in one change.
If you are going to go all-in, then write down the steps you need to take, and make sure those steps are slowly mastered.

I’ll share more details about this in my next blog post :)
